The blade is made from Tecralene® and thermoplastic rubber for greater durability.
When water escapes from the sides of the blade, it causes a decrease in thrust and therefore in efficiency.
The Mares design was inspired by observing marine mammals, such as manatees, in their natural environment.
While swimming, these animals bend their tails to form a channel to optimize thrust.
This means that if good channeling can be achieved, all the displaced water contributes to thrust.
The “Channel Thrust” technology maximizes water channeling and moves a much greater volume of water than other fins of a similar size.
The resulting advantage is greater propulsive thrust for the same effort.
The latest evolution of Mares “Channel Thrust” technology is the new “Superchannel” design, which further enhances the high level of performance of Mares fins.

Choose the correct size: a fin that is too tight can cause cramps and one that is too loose can slip off. Do not walk with fins on out of the water (risk of falling). Fins are not a flotation device. Children must use them only under adult supervision.
