Safety warnings
Pyrotechnic distress signals (rockets, hand flares, smoke buoys) are explosives: use them only in genuine danger, following the printed instructions, holding them away from your body and downwind. Sale and use restricted to adults. Store in a dry place, away from heat sources and out of the reach of children; observe the expiry date and dispose of expired signals at authorised collection centres. Make sure the safety equipment is suitable for the distance from the coast at which you are navigating.
