The new Shimano Ocea Leader is a fluorocarbon offering a range of benefits for the most demanding anglers looking to catch large fish in difficult fishing conditions. It is thinner than nylon with an equivalent breaking strain, highly abrasion-resistant, does not absorb water and therefore sinks quickly, is light in colour and, thanks to its refractive index being similar to that of water, is less visible to fish. The construction of the Ocea Leader is very different, featuring a very soft fluoro core that provides excellent knot strength, a stiffer outer layer for excellent abrasion resistance, and an outer fluorine coating for a fantastic smooth surface. It is available on 50-metre spools.
